The award was presented during the Africa Impact Awards segment of the Strategic Impact Forum on May 23, at the Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus, recognizing transformational African leaders making bold strides in business, policy, and community impact across the diaspora.

Yannick Lefang was recognized for his trailblazing work at Kasi Insight, where he has led efforts to transform African consumer data into actionable intelligence for businesses across the continent. The 2025 edition of Africa Day Canada was a two-day event designed to ignite collaboration, elevate African voices, and accelerate impact between Canada and the African continent. Co-hosted by the ONE Campaign and the Africa Impact Initiative, the gathering brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, academics, and changemakers to reimagine partnerships, innovation, and inclusive growth.

Yannick’s award was a highlight of Day 1’s Africa Impact Awards, which recognized outstanding contributions across leadership, policy, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. Day 2 featured breakout sessions on diaspora influence, economic mobility, and entrepreneurship as catalysts for building trade and investment bridges between Africa and Canada.
